What needs independent specialist examination?
The Italian notaio (notary) performs the legal checks and formalities assigned to the notarial role. Building permits, planning compliance and the physical condition of a property should be investigated by an appropriately qualified Italian technician, such as a geometra, architect or engineer. Transaction-specific tax questions should be checked with a suitably qualified tax adviser.
